O Cebreiro on the Camino

O Cebreiro is a tiny village two hours away. It’s a popular starting point for the Camino de Santiago. From O Cebreiro, it’s a 7-day walk to reach Santiago de Compostela. This timeframe is long enough for you to feel like you’ve truly experienced the Camino, but short enough in case you can’t get away for longer than a week.

When you come into town, you’ll see an official Camino marker. From here there are only 151 kilometers to go before you reach Santiago!

And then, in the middle of nowhere, you come across this otherworldly hut:

And this is the amazing view you get from O Cebreiro. On this day it’s mostly pilgrims who are resting on the wall, but whether you’re a pilgrim or a tourist, it seems like a great place to sit and contemplate for a while:
