This Brown Butter frosting is such a delicious addition to any dessert. The sweetness of the dates partners with the nuttiness of the brown butter, and is seriously the most delicious frosting you can add to a variety of desserts!
Ingredients for brown butter date frosting:
- 4 tablespoons softened brown butter
- 6 ounces cream cheese
- 1 1/2 – 2 cups powdered sugar (or more depending on desired thickness)
- splash of vanilla
- pinch of salt
Steps for making your frosting:
- Brown 4 tablespoons of butter and set aside in the fridge to soften
- Use a stand mixer to mix your softened brown butter, cream cheese, vanilla, salt, and desired powdered sugar in order to create your frosting. I recommend using a stand mixer to get an icing consistency.
